ASHISH - FASHION IN MOTION - 23/10/15

ASHISH : FASHION IN MOTION

After being one of not very many to obtain tickets to see this retrospective runway showcasing 10 years of ASHISH, and considering I didn't have a vast knowledge of his work, I now feel so lucky and privileged to have been able to witness these few minutes of pure visual magic.

The hairstyling was a shimmering delight, I adored the slicked back look with the glittered foreheads,  it was an embodiment of a subtle statement and it didn't distract or detract from the garments.

It was such a refreshing and revitalising experience seeing so much colour and texture and pure unprecedented FUN sauntering down the catwalk. All the pieces were so charismatic and full of life and energy, it was a celebration and less of a display which made it feel so special.

It was such a spellbinding sight.

The models looked as though they were writhing in pleasure as they showed off the glimmering garments, it had this underlying sensuality which captivated your gaze.

This particular model in this particular outfit was a truly sensational moment; his walk was so distinctive, so nonchalant and comfortable, it was a very knowing, very confident swagger, and he looked around and made eye contact as he made his way down the catwalk.

The decision to allow the model to look around was what made this moment so very amazing because it drew me in even more; he was the total embodiment of pure, untaught SASS.

It was also great to be able to recognise the models that ASHISH was using, for example, the absolutely gorgeous Felix Burnett as above.

I couldn't take my eyes off of the clothes, and was genuinely quite saddened when it was all over - I could have watched all of his designs pace up and down that catwalk for a substantially longer amount of time.

Once the models had completed their final walk they all congregated at the end and stood together,  like an ASHISH army, for a few seconds, to allow for us to appreciate and applaud like no other.

The sight was so still, so powerful, and emotionally provoking.

It was such an adorable, spine-tingling moment when ASHISH briefly appeared at the end, his appearance was accompanied by a rapturous roar of applause and he disappeared all too soon.

A truly memorable experience that I will be forever grateful for being able to witness.
